Through the generosity of the faithful, The Catholic Foundation has awarded over $45 million in grants since its inception in 1998 to support the community - Catholic and otherwise - locally, nationally and internationally. Foundation donors support various religious, educational and charitable Catholic organizations throughout northern Colorado and beyond. From time to time, the Foundation's board approves grants to non-Catholic organizations whose work supports the mission of the Roman Catholic Church.
As an independent, nonprofit corporation grantmaking is at the heart of the Foundation's mission. Foundation grantmaking activities include:
Donor-Advised Grants - Foundation donors recommend distributions directly to the causes and programs they wish to support.
Endowment and Field of Interest Grants - grantmaking according to donor intent from funds created to ensure a legacy to perpetually benefit charitable organizations for generations to come.
In Fiscal Year 2007, the Foundation distributed $5.1 million in grants through the funds of the Foundation.
